InfoTrends Shows Decline in At-Home Printing by Digital Camera ...
(Weymouth, MA) July, 12 2006... A recent InfoTrends study shows that the percentage of digital camera owners who print at home declined by 10% between 2004 and 2006. Meanwhile, 31% of digital camera owners who print their photos have used retail locations, reflecting an increase of 22% over the past two years. Nevertheless, the home remains the most popular printing location by far, and the majority of users still assign it the most positive attributes. Home printing is perceived as more affordable, more convenient, faster, and easier than other printing methods. "Although consumers are still mainly printing at home, the number of those who do so decreases every year due to the gaining popularity of online photo services and retail locations," commented Sandra Collins, a Consultant at InfoTrends.
Phoenix rises from the ashes

And the showpiece is a Roland 700 with a great deal of special equipment. Jrg Hllwarth started up as a one-man business in the basement of his home in 1980 and over the last 26 years has developed it into a full-service provider with extensive know-how. Sterndruck has been located in the Zillertal industrial estate since 1997 and in early March this year a fire broke out in the basement of the company's building which seriously damaged the building and equipment. Large areas of the prepress, digital printing and finishing operations were completely destroyed, along with the major production resource - a Roland 700 installed in 1998.
